FOOTHILLS INCIDENT NOTIFICATION


On Sunday, October 5th, Foothills Natural Gas Co-op Ltd. experienced a system failure on our Meter Station # 2 which serves approximately 550 members surrounding the Eagle Hill area. Our after-hour and on-call crew was notified, and an investigation was initiated to examine the cause of the incident.


Foothills can verify that the odorant delivery system at Station # 2 dumped a significant volume of odorizing agent into the pipeline system downstream of the station and this failure is causing all properties receiving natural gas delivery off that station to be experiencing high levels of the “rotten egg” smell associated with that odorizing agent.


The failure was corrected at the station which eliminated any further odorant being delivered into the downstream distribution system and Foothills is now engaged in remedial measures to purge the odorizing agent out of our pipeline system servicing those properties.
